IIAQI Healthy Indoor Air Quality Certificates Terms & Conditions

Commercial Property

  1. Services Provided:
    • IIAQI offers Healthy Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Certificates to businesses and commercial properties.
    • The certificates and grades are based on a thorough assessment of indoor air quality according to the published standards.
    • Upon evaluation by an authorized IAQ assessor and the data collected being assessed by IIAQI, the certificate is issued if the property/space meets the required standards.
  2. Application and Payment:
    • By submitting an application for a Healthy Indoor Air Quality Certificate, you agree to pay the applicable fee in full.
    • The fees for the certificate assessment and issuance are transparently published on our website.
    • Customers must settle the required registration fees before the certification process starts.
    • Accepted payment methods are specified on the website.
  3. IAQ Data Collection, Assessment and Analysis
    • It’s an integral part of the Healthy Indoor Air Quality Certificate process is required for the certificate issuance and the respective grade
    • Customers are required to pay the fees for this stage before the IAQ Data Collection, Assessment and Analysis stage begins.
    • These fees cover the comprehensive evaluation and analysis of data captured by the IAQ monitor devices installed by authorized assessors.
    • The analysis includes assessing air pollutants, temperature and humidity against IIAQI standards.
    • The specific fee per IAQ monitor device is detailed on our website.
  4. Ongoing Monitoring Fees:
    • For continuous monitoring, customers are charged a monthly fee per IAQ monitoring device.
    • IIAQI will collect, assess, and analyze the data captured by these devices.
    • The ongoing monitoring includes evaluating air pollutants based on IIAQI standards, monitoring temperature and humidity, and ensuring compliance.
    • As part of this service, IIAQI will provide quarterly IAQ reports summarizing the monitored data and compliance status.
  5. Certificate Issuance:
    • Upon successful completion of the certification process, IIAQI will issue a Healthy Indoor Air Quality Certificate with the grade achieved.
    • This certificate confirms adherence to IIAQI’s Healthy Indoor Air Quality standards.
    • Grades Available:  Healthy Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), Healthy Plus Indoor Air Quality, Healthy Excellence Indoor Air Quality and Healthy Leader Indoor Air Quality.
  6. Certificate Validity:
    • The Healthy Indoor Air Quality Certificate and  Healthy Plus Indoor Air Quality Certificate remains valid for a period of one year from the date of issuance.
    • Customers who opt for continuous IAQ monitoring Grades as the Healthy Excellence Indoor Air Quality Certificate and Healthy Leader Indoor Air Quality Certificate as will experience automatic renewal every 6 months, provided they pay the monthly monitoring fees and adhere to the standards.
    • It’s important to note that the certificate applies exclusively to the specific property inspected on the certificate date.
  7. Renewal:
    • To maintain certification, you must apply for renewal and pay the applicable fee before the current certificate expires.
    • Alternatively, you can choose continuous monitoring, which renews automatically every 6 months and requires a new IAQ assessment every 2 years to check the IAQ monitors are still accurate.
  8. Use of Certificate:
    • The IIAQI Healthy Indoor Air Quality Certificates are intended solely for promoting your business or organisation.
    • It may not be used for any other commercial purpose without explicit written consent from IIAQI.
    • Any unauthorized use beyond promotion may result in legal action.
  9. Intellectual Property:
    • The Healthy Indoor Air Quality Certificate and all related materials are the exclusive intellectual property of IIAQI.
    • Customers are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to display the certificate within their premises or on marketing materials, as long as they maintain a valid certificate.
    • Displaying the certificate beyond the scope of this license requires prior written approval from IIAQI.
  10. Termination and Refunds:
    • IIAQI reserves the right to revoke a Healthy IAQ Certificate if the property no longer meets the required standards.
    • In such cases, no refunds will be provided.
    • Customers may request a refund for any fees paid if work on the certification process has not commenced.
    • Termination of the certificate does not absolve the customer of any outstanding obligations under the agreement.
  11. Customer agrees to terms and conditions on the Certificate Application Form.
  12. Warranties and Safety:
    • The Healthy Indoor Air Quality Certificate does not constitute any warranties regarding premises safety or air quality.
    • Customers acknowledge that the certificate is based on an assessment at a specific point in time and does not guarantee future conditions.
    • IIAQI disclaims all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose.
    • Customers agree to indemnify and hold harmless IIAQI, its officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the use of the certificate.
    • This includes claims related to third-party reliance on the certificate or any inaccuracies therein.
  13. Disclaimer
    • We expressly disclaim all warranties, whether expressed or implied, regarding the Healthy Indoor Air Quality Certificate and its use.
    • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the certificate.
    • The International Indoor Air Quality Institute (IIAQI) and all parties involved in its funding or creation, including affiliates, members, employees, and contractors, assume no liability or responsibility to the user or any third parties.
    • This includes any claims related to the accuracy, completeness, or reliance on information contained in the IIAQI resources.
    • While the information within the International Indoor Air Quality Institute (IIAQI) is believed to be reliable and accurate, all materials are provided without warranties of any kind.
    • We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of information or its suitability for any particular purpose.
    • The IIAQI and related resources are intended to educate and assist organisations, building stakeholders, real estate owners, tenants, occupants, and other users.
    • IIAQI Healthy Indoor Air Quality Certificate​ aim to create healthier spaces, organizations, and communities.
    • Nothing in the IIAQI resources should be considered a substitute for quality control, safety analysis, legal compliance (including zoning), comprehensive urban planning, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
    • As a condition of use, the user covenants not to sue and agrees to waive and release the International Indoor Air Quality Institute (IIAQI), its affiliates, members, employees, or contractors.
    • This waiver covers any and all claims, demands, and causes of action arising from the use of or reliance on the IIAQI resources.
  14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction:
    • The terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland where IIAQI is headquartered.
    • Any disputes arising from or related to the certificate shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in that jurisdiction.

Residential Property

  1. Services Provided:
    • IIAQI offers Healthy Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Certificates to residential properties.
    • The certificates and grades are based on a thorough assessment of indoor air quality according to the published standards.
    • Upon evaluation by an authorized IAQ assessor and the data collected being assessed by IIAQI, the certificate is issued if the property/space meets the required standards.
  2. Application and Payment:
    • By submitting an application for a Healthy Indoor Air Quality Certificate, you agree to pay the applicable fee in full.
    • The fees for the certificate assessment and issuance are transparently published on our website.

  4. Certificate Issuance:

    • Grades Available:  Healthy IAQ Grade C, Healthy IAQ Grade B, Healthy IAQ Grade A and Healthy IAQ Grade A+.
  5. Certificate Validity:
    • Residential certifications have a validity period specified at the time of certificate issuance. These certificates are granted based on the assessment readings and the usage of the premises during the assessment. In the case of New Build Developments, once the new residences are occupied, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) changes may occur. These changes are beyond the institute’s control. Therefore, the certificate can only attest to the IAQ conditions observed at the time of the assessment.
    • In the case of multi-tenant developments, Certifications for Built To Rent (BTR) and Student Accommodation remain valid for a duration of 12 months from the date of certificate issuance. Once this period elapses, a new assessment becomes necessary to obtain another certification. The subsequent certification will be assigned a corresponding grade based on the updated assessment.
    • It’s important to note that the certificate applies exclusively to the specific property inspected on the certificate date.
  6. Renewal:
    • To renew the certification, you must apply for a new assessment and pay the applicable fees
  7. Use of Certificate:
    • The IIAQI Healthy Indoor Air Quality Certificates are intended solely for information about the Indoor Air Quality at the date of the assessment.
    • It may not be used for any other commercial purpose without explicit written consent from IIAQI.
    • Any unauthorized use beyond promotion may result in legal action.
  8. Intellectual Property:
    • The Healthy Indoor Air Quality Certificate and all related materials are the exclusive intellectual property of IIAQI.

Membership for Professionals Terms & Conditions

  1. Membership fees are non-refundable.
  2. Membership Benefits
    • Membership benefits may include, but are not limited to, authorization to perform Healthy IAQ Certificate Assessments discounts to certification services, access to exclusive content, discounts on courses and events, networking opportunities, and professional development resources.
    • Membership benefits are subject to change without notice.
  3. Membership Fees and Renewal
    • Membership fees are published on our website. Memberships are valid for the chosen payment period: monthly or annual; and must be renewed to maintain active status.
    • Membership auto-renews unless cancelled in writing 15 days prior to renewal.
  4. Members must abide by the Code of Conduct and applicable laws/regulations.
  5. Membership Termination
    • We reserve the right to terminate a membership if the member violates the terms of this agreement or engages in conduct that is detrimental to the organisation. No refunds will be provided for terminated memberships.
  6. Intellectual Property
    • All content, materials, and branding associated with the membership program are the intellectual property of the International Indoor Air Quality Institute. Members are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the membership benefits.
  7. Limitation of Liability
    • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the membership benefits. The company’s total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the member for their membership.
  8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
    • These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland and any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ireland.

Terms and Conditions for Indoor Air Quality Course – IIAQI Assessor AP Course

  1. Course Description
    • The Indoor Air Quality Course – IIAQI Assessor AP Course is designed to train professionals in the assessment and evaluation of indoor air quality. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be certified as IIAQI Assessor Accredited Professionals.
  2. Course Eligibility
    • The course is open to professionals with relevant experience in fields related to the course content.
  3. Course Fees and Registration
    • The course fees are published on our website. Participants must register and pay the required fees in full before the course begin to secure enrollment.
  4. Course Access and Timeline
    • Participants will be granted access to the online course materials upon enrollment and payment of the required fees. There is no set timeline for completion, and participants can access the course content at their own pace.
  5. Final Examination
    • Participants must successfully complete the final assessment to complete IIAQI Assessor AP certification course.
  6. Course Completion and Certification
    • Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive the IIAQI Assessor AP certification.
  7. Course Materials and Intellectual Property
    • All course materials, including presentations, handouts, and assessments, are the intellectual property of International Indoor Air Quality Institute. Participants are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the materials for personal and professional development purposes and may not be reproduced or distributed without permission.
  8. Refunds and Cancellations
    • Participants may request a full refund of the course fees up to 14 days after enrollment, provided they have not accessed the course materials. No refunds will be provided for participants who have accessed the course content or after the 14-day refund period.
  9. Limitation of Liability
    • International Indoor Air Quality Institute shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the course materials, assessments, exminations or certification. The company’s total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the participant for the course.
  10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
    • These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland and any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ireland.

Other Courses & Events Terms

  1. Course and Event Description
    • IIAQI offers a variety of other courses and events for professionals, including workshops, seminars, training and conferences. The specific details of each course or event, including the content, schedule, and fees, will be published on our website.
  2. Registration and Payments
    • Participants must register and pay the required fees in full before attending a course or event. Payments can be made using the methods specified on our website.
  3. Cancellations and Refunds
    • IIAQI reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a course or event due to low enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, participants will be offered a full refund or the opportunity to transfer their registration to a future event.
    • Participants may request a full refund of the course or event fees up to 14 days before the scheduled start date. No refunds will be provided for cancellations within 14 days of the event or for participants who do not attend.
  4. We may record events for quality/marketing purposes.
  5. No individual recording/photography is permitted without prior approval.
  6. Attendees must follow all safety instructions and event staff directions.
  7. Intellectual Property
    • All materials, presentations, and content provided during the courses and events are the intellectual property of IIAQI. Participants are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the materials for personal and professional development purposes.
  8. Limitation of Liability
    • IIAQI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the course or event materials. The company’s total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the participant for the course or event.
    • We are not liable for loss/damage to personal property at events.
  9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
    • These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland and any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ireland.

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Monitors’ Panel Terms and Conditions

  1. Purpose and Scope
    • The IAQ Monitors’ Panel acts as a reference for selecting indoor air quality (IAQ) monitors within the Institute’s IAQ parameters and standards. 
    • The panel provides a curated selection of IAQ monitors suitable for use in assessments leading to Residential and Commercial Certifications.
    • The institute reserves the right to assess IAQ monitors from different brands rigorously. This assessment aims to verify accuracy, reliability, and compliance with the Institute’s standards. Only monitors that meet these criteria are recommended.
  2. Panel and Composition
    • Brand Monitors of the panel are selected based on their expertise, experience and reliability. In addition, they must comply with the Institute’s set of IAQ parameters and standards for assessments leading to certifications. 
    • Each brand is free to join or leave the panel at any time, with the understanding that they must inform the Institute of their decision.
    • In case a brand decides to leave the panel, no charges are applied provided that the Institute is advised 15 days in advance, prior to the date the brand wishes to be removed from the panel. In such cases where a brand decides to leave the pane, no refunds will be granted.  
  3. Financial Arrangements and Purchases
    • The Institute explicitly states that it is not responsible for any financial arrangements or purchases made between the panel brands and the Institute’s members.
    • IAQ Brands’ representatives and Institute’s members must handle any financial transactions independently.
  4. Charges and Reviews
    • Charges associated with participation in the panel are subject to yearly reviews.
    • Currently, brands can participate in the Institute’s panel free of charge until the year 2025.
    • Any changes, including changes to charges will be communicated to the brands in advance.
  5. Responsibility and Agreements
    • The Institute holds no responsibility for agreements or contracts between the IAQ monitor brands and individual Institute members.
    • Brands’ representatives and Institute’s members are encouraged to establish clear agreements independently.
  6. Communication and Updates
    • The Institute will ensure timely communication with the brands’ respective representatives regarding any updates, changes, or decisions.
    • Brands’ representatives will be informed of any modifications to terms and conditions.
  7. Intellectual Property
    • The Institute retains all intellectual property rights in and to the Panel, including but not limited to the selection criteria, assessment methodology, and certification standards.
    • Brands participating in the Panel agree not to reproduce, distribute, or display any Institute materials without prior written consent.
  8. Limitation of Liability
    • The Institute shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the participation in the IAQ Monitors’ Panel or the use of the recommended IAQ monitors.
    • The Institute’s total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the brand for their participation in the panel, if applicable.
  9. Termination and Suspension
    • The Institute reserves the right to terminate or suspend a brand’s participation in the IAQ Monitors’ Panel if the brand fails to comply with the Institute’s standards, policies, or these terms and conditions.
    • In the event of termination or suspension, the Institute will notify the brand’s representative in writing, and no refund of any charges will be provided.
  10. Amendments
    • The Institute reserves the right to modify or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice.
    • Continued participation in the Panel shall constitute acceptance of any changes to these Terms and Conditions.
  11. Severability
    • If any provision of these terms and conditions is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
  12. Warranty Disclaimer
    • The Institute disclaims all warranties, express or implied, regarding the Panel and its content.
    • The Institute does not warrant that the Panel will meet the specific needs of any brand or member.
  13. Agreement
    • By participating in the IAQ Monitors’ Panel, brands acknowledge that they have read, understand, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
  14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
    • These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland, and any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ireland.
